How Do I Sign Up For A Class?
Click Book at the top of this page, search "Salt Okotoks" on the free Mindbody App, or purchase your sessions at the studio (in advance). All classes must be prepaid.
Note: Clients are able to sign up for our regularly scheduled classes up to one week in advance.
What Do I Need To Do To Take A Class?
1. All cellular devices must be turned off or switched to silent during your class to prevent any distraction or disruption. We also would appreciate if you faced your screen toward the floor, as the studio is not brightly lit and a bright screen will disrupt the class. We encourage selfies before and after class. If you wish to record your workout on your phone, please be mindful of respecting the privacy of those around you.
2. Grip Socks! Since we provide the mats, hygiene is a top priority, so no bare feet allowed. Grip socks are mandatory for your safety. We stock different styles of grip socks for your convenience if you need to purchase any.
3. Refillable water bottle is a must. Bonus: add some sea salt for extra hydration. We have a water filling station for your use in studio.
4. Please do not wear or spray any strong perfumes, colognes, or body sprays in the studio.
5. Wear comfortable clothing but keep in mind you will be sweating, so avoid wearing heavy or bulky items. Sports bras are welcomed, should you choose to wear one.
Is There A Salt Class For Beginners?
All of them! Modifications are always available if needed, don't be afraid to ask the instructor for help!
Can I Take A Salt Class If I Am Pregnant?
We do not recommend any of our infrared heated classes during pregnancy. If your doctor has cleared you for exercise during pregnancy, you can take advantage of our regular temperature classes on Wednesdays. All mom & baby classes are not heated.
How Many Heated Classes Should I Take Per Week?
Every person has different goals and abilities when it comes to their health and fitness, and so we encourage you to find a rhythm that allows you to recover fully between sessions while also ensuring you are seeing progress and consistency. Because infrared heat has detoxifying and rejuvenating properties, you may notice that you recover faster after your session. Adequate hydration is pivitol to ensuring your body is well-nourished after periods of heightened sweating and movement. Ask a member of staff for any recommendations on hydration and minerals if you aren't sure!
Do You Have Locker Rooms and Showers?
We offer lockers, coat racks, and shoe storage inside the studio. We also have a private bathroom that can be used for freshening up and changing, as well as changing stalls, but we do not have showers.
What Happens If I Miss A Class?
Since we have a very limited number of spots in each class and high demand, we require no less than 8 hours notice that you won’t be able to keep your reservation. Unfortunately, if you are unable to make it to class with less than 8 hours notice, we will not be able to offer you a credit. For more information on missing classes, please visit our Terms & Conditions page.
How Hot is the Studio?
Our studio is heated anywhere between 23-26 degrees Celsius using infrared heat. If you have never been in infrared heat, it is different than what you may have previously experienced in a class like Bikram Yoga. Infrared heats objects (aka you!) rather than the air, so you will notice that it is not stifling or difficult to catch your breath. The gentle heat provides an environment where you will experience improved circulation, detoxification, and flexibility. We would describe the room as being warm rather than hot hot hot. Tuesdays and Thursdays are our regular temperature, non-heated days, so the studio will sit around 18 degrees Celsius.
